Piper Nigrum Middle note
Warm and softly spicy, oil of black pepper comes from the fruit or peppercorn, the same part that is used in cookery. This almost universally known seasoning actually originates in India, and was one of the spices to be traded along the spice route, travelling East to China and West to Europe.
Uses
Black pepper is most of all a warming, stimulating oil. Used in moderation in a massage blend, it works powerfully on aching, stiff muscles, warming, soothing and releasing tension. Rheumatism and arthritic conditions can also benefit from these properties.
As with many culinary herbs and spices, black pepper oil stimulates the appetite. It is also of use for constipation, diarrhoea, nausea and other digestive complaints.
