Melaleuca cajeputi 'White Tea tree' Top note
Cajeput (cajuput) is a relative of the more widely-publicised tea tree, and is also native to Australasia and South-East Asia. The head-clearing scent of the oil is typical of the resinous leaves of evergreen trees, although less overpowering than some other oils.
Cajeput is a strong antiseptic, with additional antimicrobial properties, making it particularly useful for infections. use a few drops on a tissue, or in a bath for cases of colds, coughs and flu. For urinary infections, either a sitz bath or normal bath may be used.
It is also an effective acne treatment, applied by dabbing a little onto the affected area, using damp cotton wool if preferred.
