Cinnamomum zeylanicum Middle note
Cinnamon leaf oil is taken by steam distillation from the twigs and evergreen leaves of the tree. originally native to Southern India and various islands, the inner bark has long been traded along the spice route. The leaf oil has a warm and spicy scent.
Well diluted in a carrier oil, cinnamon leaf oil is useful in massage to stimulate a sluggish circulation and warm up rheumatic joints. Its warming properties also contribute to its effectiveness in relieving symptoms of colds and flu. Care must be taken with this oil, as it can irritate the skin. Always source your oil carefully - cinnamon bark oil must never be used on the skin.
