Elemi

 Resin from the elemi tree has been used by man at lest since the time of ancient Egypt, where it was used in embalming mummies.  The essential oil is distilled from this gum has a pleasant, fresh yet spicy aroma.

Elemi essential oil has a very effective role in skincare, particularly for more mature skins, where it has a reviving and anti-wrinkle effect  Diffused through an oil burner or vaporiser it can be helpful for coughs.  For this , a few drops of the oil can also be used on a handkerchief, or on cotton wool placed beside the pillow.

Psychologically, elemi oil has a calming effect and can engender a sense of mental release in people the effects of too much stress
